A four day retreat for founders running businesses doing $1M or more a year, hosted by Mary Heffernan with guest speakers.
WHAT IT IS
Four days to talk shop with founders at your level
The Founders Round Up is a gathering of established small business owners who want to talk shop, compare notes and find ways to grow in today's climate and economy.
We'll be at Rancho de los Caballeros, an authentic western guest ranch in Wickenburg, about an hour north of Phoenix. We'll spend our time around tables bringing up our biggest obstacles and talking through solutions, learning new ways to use AI tools in your business, and hearing from speakers on branding, growth and exit strategies.
Some of it is roundtable discussion where everybody at the table has been where you are, and some of it is workshops, which we build from a poll of the group so the sessions cover what you're stuck on. A good part of it is laptop work, because the ideas you don't build before you leave tend to never get built, and we want to make them happen while we're all together.

The room
12 to 15 founders at your level, and some of the best thinking you take home will come from the person sitting next to you at dinner.

THURSDAY
Arrive
Check in from 4pm, settle into the ranch and join a welcome dinner so the room knows each other before we start working.
FRIDAY
Dig in
Roundtables and workshops built from the group poll, plus a session on the AI tools worth your time. After a long lunch we work as a group with laptops open.
SATURDAY
Build
Guest speakers on branding, growth and exit strategies, with time at Five Marys Hidden Hacienda and time around the pool.
SUNDAY
Land it
Close out what you built, set what happens next and head out by 2pm.
THE PLACE
Rancho de los Caballeros
An authentic western guest ranch in Wickenburg, Arizona, in the high Sonoran desert, with adobe walls, copper, big fireplaces and a whole lot of sky. January is the best month to be there.
- Time around the pool between sessions, and a horseback ride if the group wants one
- Five Marys Hidden Hacienda, our team roping facility, is just up the road
- Phoenix Sky Harbor is about an hour and fifteen minutes away
WHO THIS IS FOR
For founders past the scrappy stage
This retreat is for founders running a business doing $1M or more a year in sales. What you sell matters less than where you are, which is past the scrappy stage and into the part where your own time is the constraint.
Ranchers, farmers, makers, retailers, manufacturers and service businesses are all welcome.
INVESTMENT
Everything is included
$5,500
ALL INCLUSIVE, PAID IN FULL OR IN THREE PAYMENTS
Lodging, every meal and every drink are covered. A private room upgrade is available for $950 additional, and travel to and from Wickenburg is not included.
If you'd like to spread it out, you can pay one third when you register, one third 30 days later and the final third 60 days after you register.
Good to know
- Arrive Thursday by 4pm and depart Sunday at 2pm.
- Attendance is by application, and the group is limited to 12 to 15 founders so every person gets plenty of time at the table.
- Deposits are non-refundable. If something comes up and you can't make it, you can transfer your spot to another founder who is a good fit for the group, or put your deposit toward a future retreat with us.
- Special circumstances will always be considered.
