Start where you are
I'm Mary Heffernan, and I run Five Marys Ranch with my husband Brian in Northern California. Over the past year and a half, AI has changed the way we run all of it.
Brian is a rancher and not a tech guy, and he won't stop talking about it. He has used AI to work through a water rights document from start to finish, audit our UPS bill so we could negotiate better rates, summarize a long insurance policy and flag what we needed to change, and get a second opinion on a sick cow from a photo.

Which guide should I start with?
If you're brand new to AI, start with How to Get Started with AI and Use It Wisely for Everyday Tasks. After that I'd go in order with How to Build Your Business Brain, How to Teach Claude Your Voice and Build an AI Super Staff, because each one builds on the one before it, and you can pick up Your Daily Dashboard any time after the first guide.
Do I need to be tech-savvy?
Not at all. Every guide is written in plain English with no jargon, and if you can write an email, you can use AI.
Do I need to pay for AI tools?
Four of the five guides work on the free plan of Claude or ChatGPT. Your Daily Dashboard needs Claude Pro, which is $20 a month, for the live dashboard and the morning schedule, and its first two steps work on the free plan.
Should I use Claude or ChatGPT?
The first guide works in either one, so pick one and get really good at it before you branch out. The other four use Claude, because your business brain and your Voice Guide get saved in a Claude project.
How long does a guide take?
Plan on 30 to 45 minutes for most of them and about an hour for the daily dashboard. There is no schedule to keep, so you can finish one and pick up the next when you're ready.
What comes with each guide?
A short visual booklet on one job with examples and pages to fill in, and an action page at the end with numbered steps and boxes to check off. I'm recording an audio companion for each guide, and I'll add it to your library as soon as it's ready.
